TRINITY BUOY DRAWING PRIZE
The Vanishing, selected for Trinity Buoy Drawing Prize 2021, Carbone and Pastel on Bristol Card
With the death of my grandmother, I was tasked with sorting out the belonging of a lifetime. In the back of a cupboard, I found a small wooden box, handmade by my great grandfather, I was told in contained a wealth of photographs, but when I opened it, I found the box empty, all except for this fragment of a photograph caught in the hinge. No family members could identify them, an image created in a photo booth of two young ladies posing is reminiscent of the selfies of today, who were they? The past leaves many questions.
